Family Day Care Australia was proud to announce the National Award Winners in the Excellence in Family Day Care Awards at the awards Gala Dinner that was held in Hobart on Saturday night.
Now in its eighth year, the awards highlight the incredible work completed by family day care educators, coordinators and services each and every day.
This year's national award winners are:
Educator of the Year - April Eaton, Kids at Home Family Day Care (QLD)
Coordinator of the Year - Kellie Still, We Belong Family Day Care (QLD)
Service of the Year - City of Greater Geelong Family Day Care (VIC)
Family Day Care Australia Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Paterson, said this year a record number of over 5,000 nominations were placed in the awards; testament to the growing recognition of the sector’s many and unique benefits in supporting children, families and communities across Australia.
The awards celebrate the uniqueness and diversity of family day care and highlight the nurturing home learning environment that makes family day care the natural choice for quality early childhood education and care.
“To be chosen as the 2019 National Award winners is not only a reward for each winner's dedication to providing support to family day care educators, families and children, it is also a reflection on the impact that they have made on the sector,” said Mr Paterson.
Mr Paterson said, “April, Kellie and City of Greater Geelong Family Day Care's dedication set wonderful examples for the sector. It is people like April and Kellie and services such as City of Greater Geelong Family Day Care that are playing a crucial role in allowing our future generations to thrive.”
