Being approved as a family day care service in your state/territory does not automatically entitle you to administer and receive Child Care Benefit or Child Care Rebate. These schemes are operated by the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training and you will need to apply to them separately for approval. CCB and CCR provide assistance to families with the cost of child care.
Application is made using an online CCB Approval application form. It is important that you fully understand the legal obligations of approved child care services before applying for approval. Read the complete text in the application form and the attached legislative extracts carefully before submitting your application.

To ensure approved providers are clear about their obligations in relation to claiming childcare fee assistance, and fully understand their respective requirements under Family Assistance Law, the Department of Education and Training has released a variety of educational documents to assist approved Family Day Care services and educators.
To access the resources please visit the Department of Education and Training website.
When a Service becomes ‘operational’, ie either operating with service approval only or after receiving CCB approval, they are required to hold an operational policy.

The Community Support Programme (CSP) assists child care providers to establish or maintain viable services in parts of the country where they might not otherwise be viable or able to meet the unique requirements of the community, such as in disadvantaged or regional and remote areas.
