Representing You

Changes in child care policy can have a significant impact on our sector. As a member we will help you understand your regulatory environment, stay up to date with changes that affect you and to have your say on and influence child care policy.

Through continued advocacy and consultation, FDCA develops submissions on an ongoing basis to ensure our sector is represented within all levels of local, state and federal bodies on all major policy issues affecting the family day care sector.

As outlined in our Sector Viability Strategy, released in late 2019, we currently have three core goals to support the ongoing viability of family day care as the natural choice for Australia families:

  • increased quality of family day care service provision;
  • growth in higher quality service provision; and
  • the long term viability of the family day care sector.

As a member you also have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to member surveys and consultations on issues as they arise
  • Provide input into FDCA's submissions to governments on key policy and regulatory matters affecting the sector
  • Participate in vital research conducted by FDCA or in partnership with some of Australia's leading universities and ECEC academics
  • Nominate to participate in FDCA advisory groups
  • Nominate and vote for Board Directorship
