Nominations open for the 2023 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards

Nominations for the 2023 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards are now open!

As Australia’s only awards program focused solely on family day care, the Excellence in Family Day Care Awards shine a light on outstanding achievement across family day care services, coordinators and educators.

It's also a chance to showcase the many and unique benefits of the nurturing, natural approach to early education and care that family day care provides to more than 85,000 Australian children.

Over its 11-year history, the awards have seen over 38,000 parent nominations.

Andrew Paterson, the Chief Executive Officer for FDCA, said, “The awards are an important opportunity to celebrate excellence in our sector and the sheer volume of parent nominations is testament to the critical role that family day care plays in the lives of children, families and communities across Australia,”

Family day care educators also make up one of the largest networks of women in small business in the country, operating out of their own homes to provide personalised early education and care to small groups of children in a natural home environment.

“Our members come from all walks of life, having turned their passion for working with children and early education into thriving businesses,” Mr Paterson said. “They provide essential support to communities across the country, shaping young lives and supporting families into work, often in places and vocations that other care types just can’t support.
