A strong focus on supporting educator wellbeing is critical to building a quality family day care service and ultimately, to achieving quality education and care outcomes for children, families and communities across Australia. It is now well established in the research that a sense of wellbeing in educators contributes to their good mental health by assisting them to be more resilient in meeting the everyday demands and emotional needs of the children they care for. It also helps foster the development of strong connections and maintain positive relationships with families and children.
Service leaders and approved providers can foster the wellbeing of their educators and build a supportive culture by giving priority and prominence to the importance of educator wellbeing in their service.
ACECQA has developed a series of posters to support and promote educator wellbeing, connected to each of the seven quality areas of the National Quality Standard (NQS).
We encourage services to download and display these resources to assist them in opening professional discussions about educator wellbeing and reflect on strategies they could put in place to foster the wellbeing of their educators.
To view the posters, visit ACECQA’s website here: https://www.acecqa.gov.au/resources/supporting-materials/posters#EWP
