Starting Strong: ACECQA’s NQF Induction Module

The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) has developed a series of free eLearning modules to support understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF).

The first module in this series, NQF Induction 1: Introduction to the Children’s Education and Care Sector, is an ideal starting point for:

  • New educators and staff- to include as part of onboarding new educators and team members
  • Services – to include as part of professional development planning
  • Experiences educators – as a refresher to revisit fundamentals of the sector.

Key learning objectives include:

  • Overview of the sector: Understand the scope and role of children’s education and care services in Australia.
  • Introduction to the NQF: Gain insight into why the framework was developed and its role in promoting quality and consistency across services.
  • Roles and responsibilities: Learn about the responsibilities of approved providers, educators, and staff in ensuring compliance and supporting positive outcomes for children.
  • Child safety and wellbeing: Explore how the NQF underpins safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environments.

You can access the NQF Induction 1: Introduction to the Children’s Education and Care Sector course here.

National Child Protection Week

National Child Protection Week is taking place this week from 7-13 September.

The theme for National Child Protection Week in 2025 is 'Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action".

This year’s theme highlights that while open discussions are crucial, words alone are not enough: we must turn dialogue into meaningful action. By shifting from conversation to action, we can ensure that every child not only feels heard but also experiences real safety, care, and protection.
