What's next in the 2020 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards?

With the 2020 Star Award and Regional Educator Winners revealed, we have moved one step closer to the announcement of the 2020 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards National Finalists.

We can’t wait to announce our National Finalists on 7 December 2020 and award them with a trip to the 2020 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards Gala Dinner.

To be held on 27 February 2021 at the Stamford Grand Adelaide Hotel, the Gala Dinner is Australia’s only national awards event dedicated to the educators, coordinators and services who make our sector shine.

In the meantime, make sure to keep an eye out for media coverage on the awards, which has so far reached more than 404,000 people across the country! Check out our Facebook page and website to read about our winners in the news.

REMINDER - Call for Abstracts - Share your insights at the FDCA 2021 National Conference

Widely recognised as Australia’s premier family day care event, FDCA offers our members an exclusive opportunity to present alongside keynote speakers and stakeholders at the FDCA 2021 National Conference to be held on 28-30 October next year.

This is your chance to stand out from the crowd and rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector, including Dr Helen May, Emeritus Professor of Education at the University of Otago, and Jay Laga'aia, renowned actor, entertainer and father of eight.

Whether you are a seasoned participant or a first time attendee, presenting at the FDCA 2021 National Conference is a professional opportunity second to none. We welcome submissions on a range of topics that will appeal to the unique and varied experiences of our members, and which will enrich the work of FDCA in representing, supporting, and promoting the family day care sector.

Have your say on vital research into family day care!

Access the survey here.

Whether you are an educator, coordination unit staff member or an approved provider, make sure your voice is heard in a significant new study exploring what leadership looks like in a family day care context.

While there are a growing number of studies looking at leadership in schools and centre-based early childhood education and care services, there have been very few studies of leadership in Australian family day care  – until now!

This study is your chance to participate in vital research focusing specifically on the family day care sector and we strongly encourage all of our members to take part.

The study is being undertaken by a team of researchers from Queensland University of Technology and the University of Queensland, and FDCA sits on the steering committee for this exciting new research project, along with the Family Day Care Association of Queensland, Early Childhood Australia (QLD), and Wynnum Family Day Care.

What do I need to do to participate in the study?

Complete the online survey. The survey asks questions about you, your work in family day care and your views and experiences of leadership within the sector and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

We strongly encourage you to share the survey with other educators, service staff and approved providers across your network.

To access the online survey, simply click here.

To ensure your voice is heard, make sure you complete the survey before the closing date
of 20 November 2020.

If you have any questions about the survey, or the vital research it supports, please contact us at enquiries@fdca.com.au.
