As the only national event of its kind, the 2020 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards are an important opportunity to highlight the unique benefits of the family day care home learning environment, and position family day care as the natural choice for quality early childhood education and care. FDCA would like to commend all of our nominees in the 2020 Awards and thank everyone who has participated.
We encourage our members to keep an eye out on media coverage on our Regional Educator Winners, which will be shared on our Facebook page and website.
If the answer is no, and you can service an area of unmet demand, we encourage you to submit an expression of interest to partner with Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) through our national family day care advertising campaign: the FDCA Educator Boost Program!
Each year, FDCA invests in a national advertising campaign to promote the unique benefits of family care for families across Australia and position family day care as a career of choice. To ensure our campaigns reach as many people as possible, we utilise a number of popular advertising platforms including Facebook, Google Ads and a National Regional Television Campaign.
In 2020-21, FDCA is launching the Educator Boost Program advertising campaign to assist services to attract new educators in areas around Australia that are crying out for family day care.
We have identified over 940 suburbs across Australia as areas of high unmet demand. If your service delivers, or can deliver, care in any of the identified suburbs - we want to hear from you!
FDCA has undertaken a comprehensive analysis of "leads" generated from the online FDCA Family Day Care Locator to determine areas of unmet demand for family day care.
A portion of our Educator Boost Program advertising campaign will target these areas, allowing selected service members to link in with the campaign and leverage it to support educator recruitment.
The program will work alongside FDCA's Facebook and Google Ads recruitment campaigns, which will be boosted and targeted at eligible services' local areas. This will direct prospective educators to custom web pages that will provide contact details of family day care services in their targeted location.
The Educator Boost Program is an exclusive, members-only benefit and is just one of the ways we promote family day care as your national peak body.
Before submitting an expression of interest, please review the list of identified suburbs here.
When completing the expression of interest form, please be sure to include your service's FDCA membership number, which is available in your FDCA Member Zone.
Expressions of interest for the Educator Boost Program close at 11.59pm (AEDT) on Thursday 12 November 2020.
Please note that your eligibility for the Educator Boost Program will be based on your service's:
Children’s Week is an annual week initiated by the Children’s Week Council to shine a spotlight on children, their rights and achievements. The Children’s Week Council of Australia is composed of representatives of each state and territory and is focused on the advocacy and promotion of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child (UNCRC), and the celebration of each child’s right to a healthy and happy childhood.
Each year, an article from the UNCRC is selected by the Children’s Week Council of Australia to become the theme for Children’s Week across the country.
This year’s theme is centered on article 15 of the UNCRC: Children have the right to meet together and join groups and organisations as long as it does not stop other people from enjoying their rights. In exercising their rights, children have the responsibility to respect the rights, freedom and reputations of others.
A number of events are being held at a local, state and national level to reflect on the theme and encourage children and communities to come together. To find out more information on events near you, visit the Children’s Week Council of Australia website here and click on your state or territory.
