Is Your Worker Register Up to Date?

The National Early Childhood Worker Register is now live, providing regulatory authorities with greater visibility of the ECEC workforce and supporting their ability to monitor, identify and respond to risks to help keep children safe.

Regulatory authorities can now see who is working in education and care services and where, helping to strengthen safety and quality across the sector.

As a reminder, approved providers are required to ensure the Worker Register is kept up to date, including adding and maintaining details for workers engaged in education and care roles at the service.

Updates must be made within 14 days of any change, including:

  • when a worker starts
  • when details change
  • recording when a worker leaves

For guidance and more information, visit the ACECQA Worker Register page.

Learning Environment Safety Audits Webinar

On Tuesday 26 May, from 11.30 am – 12.30 pm (AEST), Early Childhood Australia (ECA) will be hosting a free webinar on ‘Learning Environment Safety Audits’ as part of its new child safeguarding professional learning series. The speakers for the session will be Nicole Talarioc and Sam Dellamarta, both members of the Rapid Response Taskforce, which you can learn more about here. Sam Dellamarta has worked with FDCA on the Safeguarding Children Resource and presented at the FDCA National Conference.

The series has been designed to support early childhood leaders, teachers and educators to strengthen child safety practices, build confidence and reflect on practices that help create safer environments for children.

Recognising the increasing pressures across the sector, the sessions aim to support educators and service leaders to navigate complex situations while continuing to prioritise children’s safety and wellbeing. The practice-based webinars extend beyond compliance requirements, encouraging reflective conversations, stronger safeguarding approaches and practical strategies that can be applied in everyday settings.

All webinars are free and recordings will be available to registered participants.

For more information and to register, visit the Early Childhood Australia website.

ECA Wants to Hear from You - Child Safety and Safeguarding Consultation Survey

Early Childhood Australia is consulting with the ECEC sector to shape the next wave of child safety and safeguarding resources and professional learning — and they want to hear from as many educators, leaders and services as possible.

If you work in early childhood education and care, your experience is exactly what this consultation needs. ECA wants to understand which topics matter most to you, the challenges you face in practice, and what resource formats best support your work. Your responses will directly inform practical, freely available resources developed for the whole sector.

The survey is confidential and de-identified. All respondents who complete the survey in full will be entered into the draw to win one of ten $100 ECA Shop vouchers.
